not a fun night
Any grand plans for today were derailed by kiddo getting sick last night. I think it must've been a bad case of food poisoning, since it's not lingering today like flu would, but he's so tired now from throwing up most of the night. poor dude. (and I'm tired from changing his sheets four times. he ended up having to use a sleeping bag because I ran out of bedding)

So I'm doing laundry. And more laundry  god I hate laundry. however I'm glad I have a big enough washer to take the duvet because the last one we had would never have fit. I'm still waiting to see what happens in the spin cycle. I have a horrible idea that the vibrations and weight (with the water) will send the washer through the floorboards. HOPEFULLY THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN. it'd suck to break the floor because of bad salsa or whatever the hell it was. :(

eta: did not break the floorboards. Did however manage to spring a leak somewhere, dumping a puddle of water on the floor. I think (hope) it was the seal on the door getting a bit loose with all that weight banging against it since it looked like there was some water still dripping there. hopefully I haven't just destroyed the washer seal.

Ugh! I hope he feels better. My kids sometimes get the 24 hour GI bug that's like that- they're sick- really sick- for about 9 hours, and then the worst is over and they're just tired and dehydrated. Hope he feels better fast!!!! And the laundry for puking sucks.

(Don't know if it will help you or not, but I've found that on nights like that, I end up getting out an air mattress or two and having us sleep downstairs with a bucket. I stay with them, so I can usually get the bucket under them fast enough to avoid the worst of the laundry. And emptying a bucket is much nicer than cleaning sheets!)

Good luck, and hope your washer survives as well!

my husband took the worst of it outside and hosed it off! UGH. THE WORST.

yeah, I think it's probably that same thing. I thought it was food poisoning, but he's a bit feverish as well, so it must be a bug.

Our sanity-saving kid and laundry hack is to sub in bath sheets for most bedding as soon as they show signs of being sick. Toweling is warm and washes well. Much easier than comforters!

You have my sympathies!

tragically the comforter was the first to go before we even knew there was a problem. :/ But at least it's passed now...

Oh, icky! I hate doing laundry too. Good luck with Kiddo getting better, and with the seal on the washer.

thanks! I don't know why laundry sucks - it's not like it's scrubbing the toilet which should be worse (and isn't my favorite thing) but there's something so annoying about laundry.

We have had the crud for over a week in our house and my mom is just so sick. I was finally able to do dishes last night.
