Happy Thanksgiving American friends!
Monday was great fun with sabaceanbabe!  Yay for fangirl meetup! We went to Universal Studios. It had been at least fifteen years since I'd done the actual park, so that was fun to see the changes. I find it kind of funny they still haven't ripped out the WaterWorld attraction, or at least renamed it. CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, c'mon, it's not hard, Universal. Minions were everywhere, so that was great.  Saw the empty hole where Harry Potter Land is going to be (moment of silence for the Gibson Ampitheater *sniff*)   Also, saw the Bates Motel set from Psycho which they don't actually use for the Bates Motel tv show (irony!). Hannibal production offices are in Hitchcock's old office which makes sense, somehow.  It was interesting too, since I remembered the old backlot, before they had that big fire years ago. I'm also fairly certain the tour guide lied to us because IIRC the old Back to the Future clock tower was one of the things that burned down, so it was not actually hidden behind the courthouse facade that's there now as he said. But the re-done King Kong is much better, post-fire, even though they seem to have gotten rid of the Cylon that used to be outside.

Yesterday I was Chief Adult in Charge of a kiddo playdate.  Which lasted forever.

Today I had an amazingly quiet Toys R Us shopping experience - I suppose everyone's waiting for Black Friday but I had to get the Lego Star Wars Advent for the kiddo before it sold out. JANGO IS SANTA this year. It's consistently hilarious that the Dark Side characters get to be the Santa figure-- last year it was Darth Maul. Next year it'll probably be Palpatine or Vader -- "I'm DESTROYING YOUR PLANET. Merry Christmas!" Snagged myself a Black Widow/Hawkeye minimate pack, because why not.

Tomorrow is the big cooking day. Luckily I'm responsible only for half and my parents are hosting.  Smallish gathering of family, so that's nice. Hope you all who celebrate Thanksgiving (and/or Hannukah) have a great one, and then follow it up with excellent shopping!

The Lego Advent calender! I'm hoping to get ours tomorrow. Last year I got it on Black Friday at the Lego store and ended up paying 25 dollars for it. It was the one true deal I got. I'm hoping for similar luck this year!

Happy Thanksgiving!
