Not Prime Time

I suppose the first thing to note about my three requests is that I've written all three fandoms. You are, of course, welcome to check out any of it (it's all under my name at Ao2) if you want hints of how I see all these characters. But part of the reason for requesting fic, is that I'm interested in other people's takes, so don't feel you have to be devoted to my interpretation.

1. Babylon 5, Jeffrey Sinclair

Summary: "Anything really, I just love him and I love to read others' take. I love other B5 characters as well so feel free to add anybody. Sinclair before the station, on the station, on Minbar, afterward... in small moments of diplomacy, alien adventures, the Battle of the Line, his first day on the station, it's all good."

There are no end to the stories you can tell me about Jeff. I ask for Sinclair whenever I can, and I've had a lot of awesome stuff written for me. The thing I like about him the most is that I always had the feeling he was more of a ... warrior, not a soldier. His strengths were always quiet, but present (in contrast to Sheridan's more in-your-face-ness)-- he thought well of other people, tended to believe in general goodness and second chances, but if you threatened people under his protection, you were utterly screwed.

2. Battlestar Galactica, Kara Thrace, Sam Anders

Summary: "I ship them like a shipping thing, but honestly I write them enough angst. I'd love to read something happy. It doesn't have to be sugary fluff or ooc, but something without heavy angst or doom."

Like it says on the tin. Optional details are optional, so of course it can be as gen as you can manage within canon couple-dom, but gimme some pyramid, or Kara teaching some military tactics on Caprica, or something like that, I'll be happy. And if you go get shippy, feel free to go as far as you want, ratings-wise. These two are pretty hands-y.

And unless you fix it, I'd ask that you stay away from any 4.5 setting. Sam's 4.5 arc makes me want to cry, so just. don't go there. please.

3. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Sarah Connor, Derek Reese

Summary: "I'd love is something post-finale where Derek 2.0 meets Sarah somehow because a reunion could go so many ways. But if you don't want to play in so much speculation, anything in canon, too. They had such an interesting, complicated relationship."

I wrote one piece of porn for them, but I admit it's hard to get to a shippy place with them, so if you can't do it, that's fine. Either way!

Gosh, I am very unhelpful this ficathon.

In general terms, I'm not very fond of second-person POV (you're gonna have a very large uphill battle to make me like it). I dislike implications that my favorite characters are weak or boring or marking time until someone more important/better comes along, or that 'safe' is a terrible word.

I like humor and banter. I like people using weapons and battle and blowing shit up together. I like destiny and how being 'chosen' really sucks for the one being chosen.

But as I hope you can tell, I'd rather you just write the story you want to write, and it'll turn out better than anything I could dictate. have fun. :D
