V second season casting spoilers:

OMG. They're actually going to bring Jane Badler back as Diana. Anna's mother.
Who is imprisoned in a secret place on Anna's mothership.

My thoughts in sequence when I read that:
- Diana? AWESOME! maybe NOW we'll get HAMSTER EATIN'!!
- Jane Badler? Really? Has she acted in the last twenty years?
- mm, Diana's another queen then.
- So Anna overthrew her own mother to take power, presumably.
- Lisa is so totally going to overthrow Anna (or at least try)
- Is there someone ELSE Anna's keeping there who all the Vs think is dead?

Why yes, all my thoughts about V eventually get to John May. It's a mystery. :)

Unrelated, we're watching "The Box" - the film with Cameron Diaz and James Marsden. They should've gone all out on the SF elements and not tried to sell it as a Ring/Ringu clone. shame. (However, as hubby points out, it is by the same director as Donnie Darko, which makes total sense for why it's sort of genre-confused.) But still some nice performances and really fabulous mid-70's art direction. They had the clock from my parents house on the wall in one of the scenes, I about died. :)

The Box was absolutely more awesome as a creepy Twilight Zone episode

And yay, Diana! Marc Singer, Jeff Yagher & Faye Grant should make a cameo too!

I would love it if we found out there were other resistance cells, and they could cut to the LA resistance and we see Marc Singer and Faye Grant in a bunker or something... that would be cool! At least Michael Ironside is still acting, so they could probably get him at least.

Here's hoping for more secret prisoners...

If both shows weren't filming in Vancouver I wouldn't have quite so much hope, but being right there, it's do-able. I figure they've gotta bring him back and at least show how he died, if he's really dead. But if I can't have 'faked his own death to go into hiding', I'll take 'put in a cell for the last ten years' -- which would really suck for him, but at least then it could be cool if Lisa found out he was her dad and went to spring him.

or, at least, that's what i WANT to happen. :)

So is Diana (in this version, I know Original Diana was unstable) better or worse than Anna? Hmmm.

This reminds me of a part of Coraline (the book) where the antagonist swears on her own mother's grave. She put her in there herself, and put her back when she caught her trying to crawl out.

worse than Anna? Yikes. Now there's a scary thought... though if Anna's plan was infiltration it's likely there was an option of open conquest that she decided against, and maybe that was Diana's plan?

hahahah. I don't think she has, but that's sort of awesome.

And if she's in there with John (hehehe), that's even more amusing.

that would be SUPREME FLEET COMMANDER JOHN. (or whatever John's title was in the original). hee. I'm still pulling for John to be Lisa's father and if he's stuck in there too, I want her to go rescue her dad now that she's learning that whole feeling love thing. of course he might end up as Tyler's father instead and then John and Erica could hook up which would also be okay with me... .
