Stuff and YA lit
I never did comment about TeeVee in the last few days. Let's just say I enjoyed my shows. It's been busy - both in RL and writing various things.

For a fic, I've done some researching into sailing and old ships. Armed with these basics, I feel like I should go read the Patrick O'Brian novels.

I trimmed a full minute out of a song for a possible vid. It's not even a song that I've been sitting on for a while wanting to vid, so I'm not really sure why this one seized me so hard, but it has a bit of a different take on things, and it could be interesting. It was fun to trim the audio. I am easily distracted though, so we'll see.

lucyparavel turned me on to the Fine Lines blog, where a woman around my age reads old/classic YA novels with a bit more adult sensibility, a heaping dose of nostalgia, and lots of snark (the column on "Flowers in the Attic" is particularly funny). One of the best things is she finds a lot of the same covers I had, which is occasionally like a whammy to the skull (OMG I READ THAT!)

So anyway, that, plus her death not long ago, really made me pine for Madeleine L'Engle, and I bought up many of them for myself for my birthday. I bought old editions, trying to get the same covers I used to own (and then foolishly gave away ages ago). Sadly I didn't pick the right edition for "A Ring of Endless Light", but the old cover of "Young Unicorns" was amazing to see again.

At least I'll be able to offer a different fandom for yuletide this year. If I feel brave.
