Saturday wrap up
Random March Madness yay! UCLA in the Final Four!
(okay, I had Kansas in the pool -- I'm a bad fan, I admit)

The Pegasus movie idea is possibly the worst for a tie-in I have ever heard. No cookie, Ron. Icky and boring is not a winning combination.

-

I rode on a fire engine today. They even put on the siren! (yes, I'm a three-year-old, shut up).
We went to another birthday party today and the theme was fire trucks, including a visit from an engine and a short ride (they converted the hose bed to a place to sit). The rugrat had a blast.

On Friday we went to a movie costume exhibit. There were costumes from all the Oscar nominees in costume design, plus about thirty other movies from last year: Superman Returns, Letters from Iwo Jima, Painted Veil, Curse of the Golden Flower, even Ultraviolet. Which, if you ever wanted to know if Milla Jovovich really is as skinny as she looks, the answer is yes. My God, was her outfit stick-like.

One of my favorites was getting a look at Elizabeth's wedding dress from Dead Man's Chest. I'm always amazed (though I should know better by now), by how much detail goes into these costumes, the embroidery, the beading, etc. So much of it you can't see in the film, though perhaps you'd notice its absence, I guess.

They also had the HUGE headresses from Apocalypto. Holy mackerel. We're talking 12 ft wingspan. I feel very sorry for the actors that had to wear them, because they had to weigh fifty pounds a piece, even made of faux feathers.

The costume exhibit sounds incredible. I wish I could have seen that.

It's a very cool thing. The museum does it every year. The years they had LotR costumes were especially awesome, you'd have loved those. Best costume EVER was the entire plate mail costume for Sauron. Talk about level of detail on something glimpsed for what, a minute in the prologue? Seven and a half feet tall - it towered over freaking everything in the room. KICKASS.

Oooh, costume exhibit AND riding a fire truck? You had a very nice weekend, sounds like!
