Weekend
So, I've not really been doing too much fannish lately. My MIL entered the hospital on Wed, and hopefully is supposed to be released tomorrow- though we've heard this every day for the last three, so we'll see (it's a long story that I'm not gonna share, but she's not dying, just not esp well). MrLiz is going to fly back at the end of the week tomorrow to join his sister and they'll help her out. So that's been distracting. (which is kind of terrible timing, what with a ton of media for FL out right now, but whatever.)

Anyway, to more pleasant subjects:

My other other imaginary boyfriend won a shiny statue! WOOOHOO! I hope it presages the other shiny statue. *crosses fingers* (and he got bleeped. *snickers* ♥ ) The rest of it, *shrug* I haven't seen most of them this year, including most of the t.v., so I don't care.

I was scribbling a bit on the future of 'Shadow on the Pattern' and -- y'know, this WIP stuff is... unfortunate. Which of course, I knew before I started (I mean, DUH, right?) That's why I usually try to at least do a complete draft of everything ahead of posting. But I have two things in the parts I've posted that make me grit my teeth already and I'm only seven parts in. They're not big things but without them, I think the 'reveal' is gonna be weaker than it should be.

So, should I change them? I'm not usually one for changing stuff once I post it. I fix little things, like typos, but for the most part, if it's out there, I usually consider it gone. This is actual content that changes the story. Not majorly, but it certainly lays a better foundation for what's to come than I had before.

Of course, it'll only matter to anyone who starts the story after I'd change it anyway. Except for anyone who happens to read it again later and go, "Wait a second! Han shot first!" lol

If you're not happy with what's there, I vote changing things.

I agree. We knew it was a WIP when we started reading. Plus! This will give us a chance to go back and reread. ;D

so you knew the job was dangerous when you took it? heh

I'll give you a heads up if I do change something, I'm not sure yet.

Do you know how often I go back and re-read?
lizardbethlizardbeth_j on January 19th, 2011 04:05 am (UTC)
yeah, I don't know yet. I probably should change it and then see what people think is better.

Sorry about your mom in law hopefully everything is okay.

Hey I watched Christian Bale acceptance speech on you tube he was awesome they were practically trying to yank him off stage at end. I am personally very happy about Boardwalk Empire's wins. Although I am more lukewarm about The Social Network getting so much praise it just seem like one of those movies that's about pretty white people having high class pretty white people problems. I get that facebook is huge right now but it would be nice considering how effed up the world is if "the movie of the year" was actually about something more than that.

I'm a bit surprised by Social Network as well - I thought a lot of its support had peaked, but apparently David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin are a pretty unbeatable combo, it looks like,

ah well, at least Christian won, that really was the only one I cared about, since it's about frakking time.
