Monday wrap up
Today my kid gets into the car and shows me the little bag full of 100 food items they made in class today (in honor of the 100th day of school) and called it ...

FAIL MIX.

You think maybe the word is just A LITTLE overused these days? yeah, me too.

Finally saw AVATAR, before it gets nudged out of the IMAX theaters. And I can't say a lot of the criticism is invalid (there's certainly no subtlety between the good guys and the bad guys) but while I was watching it, none of it mattered at all. Fastest 2.5 hours I've spent in a theater in a long time. It's like every Cameron film (this one's basically a blend of The Abyss and ALIENS), but with some of the most beautiful immersive visuals I've ever seen. You can really see the influence of all his ocean diving on the creatures and plants.

Anyway, I'm glad I saw it how it was meant to be seen. It matters, I think, especially for the 3D.

I had several comments over the weekend on old fic. It's always such a happy surprise when people drop in out of nowhere!

Me three. ;) As with anything handy, it has LONG outlived it's usefulness.

I'm seriously to the point where I will skip any post with that word in there. It's EVERY SINGLE DAY. argh.

This is exactly how I felt about Avatar. Now, two month later, I no longer remember any details about the plot but those vivid images are still before my eyes. If they left off the plot and just filmed the Pandora documentary I'll go watch it too.

oh yes! I want the Pandora version of the Planet Earth mini-series. That would be fabulous.
