Yuletide thinkiness
One of the reasons I like to do more than one fic for Yuletide is that it's sort of a science experiment, and with more than one story, I have more than one sample out there. This year we have hit counts as well as comments, for more data! (FYI: I hate seeing how many people read it and don't like it. I put counters on things occasionally and then wonder why I torture myself.)

And yet, the results are still (mostly) inexplicable to me. One story has surprisingly low hits for the fandom (and zero comments! ow), and one is more popular than I ever expected (which helps ease the ouch of the first, at least).

Just FYI: you can browse by fandom: AT THIS LINK . I keep it open in a tab. There's lots of Leverage, Castle, White Collar, and Glee for the "bigger" fandoms, among lots of other rare/strange/old sources.

If you're reading, note that it appears the staff has changed comment boxes to open automatically at the bottom of the fic -- I'm sure this is because reloading the pages for new comment pages was stressing the server. I know people's comments were getting eaten. Please don't take it out on the author like it's some method of "forcing comments".

You can also comment using your LJ username under the OpenID system, if you're not a member of the archive.

You know you really can't infer "didn't like it" from "didn't comment," sadly. People are lazy slobs. What fandoms did you write for? I'm hardly familiar with any of the ones on there, sadly, but you never know...

well, I KNOW that intellectually, but still... when hundreds of people read something and only a handful say something, it's hard to see it as anything but a 'meh' reaction from people, y'know? Which isn't going to kill me or anything, since I'm a big girl, but I'm not gonna say it's not disappointing either.

Author reveal is New Years when I'll post links.
