I have the funniest kiddo sometimes. I'm sure I've mentioned before that he hates potatoes (except french fries). But you know what he ate for dinner and loves? Brussel sprouts. Don't most kids HATE brussel sprouts? hee

Heh, we're watching some show about Los Angeles made a few years back, and one of the people they interview is EJO (because of the 92 riots), and he was on the Galactica set. SHOW. *sniff*

Been doing some good writing on Ariadne. Sam and Leoben talking -- that's always fun. It's nice to go back (to something that'll have more readership, too, to be honest). Well, hopefully when my art gets posted for Tartarus, a couple more people will find the story. But it's not like I didn't know it would have a small pool (both het and slash, and minor character and not fluffy? it's a trifecta!).

It's a trifecta I'm looking forward to sinking my teeth into as soon as I get a chance! :)

*glomps you* Hey, dude! (I did, btw, wish you a happy birthday. Hope it was a good one!)

I remember mentioning the epic to you in the car on our way to Burbank! That's kind of sad I sat on it so long... Read it when you can, I'm interested in what you think, of course.

*glomp* Birthday wishes much appreciated - thankee! And, yeah, I'm so not one to talk about sitting on stories a long time...guilty as charged!

Sam and Leoben talking -- that's always fun.

And in this 'verse Sam doesn't have a personal reason to hate Leoben! Yay!

oh no, they get along quite well in this verse, second only to Thea. Which is good fun to have them chat, if not good for my propensity to dump prophecies and cryptic hints all over the place. :)

In Imperfect Parentage you had it that Leoben had been Sam's second favorite. It's both maddening and stimulating that we know they once a relationship of sort in canon but can only speculate about it.

yeah, that is so true. I wish we'd seen them together after Sam knew the whole truth (okay, I wish I could've seen Sam with ANYONE, after he knew the whole truth, but Leoben's way up there in the list). Even having Leoben come to visit him in the goo and talk to him. *sigh*

I think most of my stories have background fanon that Sam and Leoben have some sort of connection - Parentage makes that explicit by making Leoben basically a facet of Sam's own personality and my presumption that Sam was a far more religious person originally than C-Bucs!Sam. But then again it could be just that I think they're both hot.

Yeah. Too bad he wasn't conscious when that clingy Eight and the blonde Six and later the brunette Six (Lida again?) were around, so we could see the Final Fiver interact with his "children". Not to mention Ellen.

I think so, too, since it's said the Five embraced the Centurions' faith and passed it down to the others. Though it's conceivable they didn't all do so to the same extent as Ellen, Sam did sound more spiritual in No Exit: "A wonderful thing has happened", "Hold them close", "We treasured him", etc. And they all saw messengers, so. Although he still said "Gods" instead of "God". Probably he wasn't fully integrated.

On that topic, the Centurions must have had more good qualities than the people-carving in Razor would suggest, for Sam and the others to basically become one political entity with them.
