A few pics and a mini-travelogue
Here are the non-kidlet pics from our trip to the bay area, a few scenic ones that I like.

First we stayed in this place for three days - a converted old military base at the Marin headlands (that's the north side of the Golden Gate bridge from the city). It's called Cavallo Point and it's beautiful.

Cavallo Point

There were deer! But my picture of that sucked so I'll spare you. One of the days we went across the bridge to the Presidio on the other side, and we hiked the grounds of the park there. One of the things we did was hike down to the "beach". You can see how choppy the water behind the spray -- it was VERY windy when we were there, but the sky was gorgeously clear and there wasn't any fog, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

We also went to the totally redone California Academy of Science museum. And I took this picture of a butterfly in their Rainforest exhibit:

After that we drove down to the Silicon Valley area, and visited Moffet Field (of importance to us, because the Naval Airship Macon's hangar is still there and it is huge. Also, it's now the site fo the NASA Ames research center. No pics of that in the open, however.

From there we drove to Yosemite National Park. We had beautiful weather and the park was pretty uncrowded, which was great. And it was beautiful. Photographs don't do it justice, but here's me trying!

Pics of kidlet to follow! :)

Beautiful! Especially the butterfly. My parents always take good travel pics, maybe I should post them sometime.
