I CAN HAZ BOOK FAIR NAO?
Five hours of set up later, I HAZ BOOK FAIR! YAY.

Now all I have to do is work it next week.

*collapses*

(for those of you not Americans/teachers/parents/don't remember your school book fair - Scholastic publishing company brings carts and stock to schools to sell books and related stuff. The school gets a percentage of the sales. So we set up the tables, decorate, and put the books from the boxes onto the tables. )

I need a drink.

I remember those! Fun! Do they still send out the monthly flyers where you can order books from? I got many books that way when I was in elementary school. :)

yes, they still have those too! I don't think Scholastic has changed much in a real long time.

The school I work in had its book fair this week. The books were on huge metal trolleys. All the parents manning it had to do was flip down the lid, open the doors and there they were. When not needed they sat closed up in the dining hall.

we have those too, but they're only for the "walls" of the fair. There are tables in the middle that have books and stand-up displays that have to be put together, etc. The whole thing takes up half the gym.

there's a lot of books. we look like the children's section at B&N. But the kids are already excited, and we had to keep chasing them away.

I just plunked down $40 in books for kiddo and his classroom at our book fair! It's a small one though, as it has to fit in the lobby of the day care center.
